I thought I was going to have all these interesting posts to do about my revision process but it turned out the book wasn't as disastrous as I thought, so the revisions were pretty basic, normal sorts of revision (selection of better details, extension and shortening of scenes, improvement of sentence structure, removing stuff I've been holding onto for too long, including one mini-chapter) and I didn't really gain any crazy insights about revision from doing it. I don't have a lot to say about it!
So, uh...
Books!
Maybe after workshop I'll have something crazier to write. Feel free to do something cooler in comments than I've managed here in the post.

ReplyDeleteYes, congratulations. Revision can be grueling. For me it always carries this burden of discovery--like I know going in that I'm going to think of some major idea or want to pull some character through a little more and I get excited but annoyed about the work.

Nah, it doesn't really make sense anymore. It was this foreshadowing thing but it didn't quite foreshadow, in fact if you didn't already know what it was about it made no sense, and there's no saving it now.
