Best American Fantasy Discontinued

Anthologies: maybe not otherwise terribly popular here at Uncanny Valley, but let's all bid a fond adieu to one of the good ones: Best American Fantasy, under the editorship of Jeff and Ann Vandermeer (and recently turned over to Larry Nolen, who would have been series editor starting with this year's Volume 4). Particularly sad because of the impressive list of stories Nolen had lined up to pass along to guest editor Minister Faust: fiction from Blake Butler, Matt Bell, Adam McOmber, Ben Percy, Melanie Rae Thon, Traci O Connor, Stephen Marche, Ander Monson-- in other words, a spectacular list of recommended reading. You would be doing yourself a favor if you followed along, even with just a fraction of his list. Assuming you haven't already.

  1. Aw, I feel bad now. To be clear, my main problem with anthologies is that I don't love them as teaching aides! They can still be pretty cool, have enjoyed BAF especially.
