This blog is officially interested in people who expend too much effort on simulacra, and this bootlegged Nintendo DS of surprising quality really makes me wonder. Nintendo mass produces DSes using years of expertise, materials bought in bulk, and (conveniently!) the original blueprints. What kind of profit margin can there possibly be in painstakingly recreating these systems with only moderately inferior materials and then selling them one-by-one on eBay?
