Consider this a down-payment on the better posts we owe you. The tough part of the semester is nearly over, so I'll be writing more about teaching, things to read, and maybe an appreciation of Modest Mouse and some other musicians and so on. For now here's a collection of songs guaranteed to break your heart wide open. This is how I want to feel when I write. I try, and try, and try.
