I will say that the bit abou...I enjoyed this post!<br /><br />I will say that the bit about stories and books you can finish in one sitting may be an example of our differences as readers: that's not what I'm looking for at all. I prefer books that I can live with for days, weeks, or even months. I try to read at the speed a book wants to be read, and to give it the time that it asks, and to live in the act of that reading even as I do other things, so that I bring my days to the book and it brings itself to my days. This is why I like short fiction best when it's in some sort of complicated and time-consuming context, as in a carefully arranged magazine or collection that requires several days to properly digest.
